We are excited to welcome AHEC Scholars to our biennial NAO Conference in Salt Lake City, but understand concerns about funding availability. The NAO Education Committee is proud to share that there is an alternative Virtual AHEC Scholars CBEL event designed to provide Scholars with all the perks of attending a national conference from the comfort of their own home. We encourage you to consider promoting this opportunity to your AHEC Scholars so they can network with Scholars from other states while exploring a multifaceted CBEL event.

Overview: AHEC Scholars Virtual CBEL will explore the effects of social determinants and historical racial trauma on communities. Each part will begin with asynchronous background information
and then the application of these principles, culminating in small presentations based on a community of the students’ choosing. The first such presentation will be on an ethnic group that was pressured out of an area. The second will be to explore some basics health determinants based on the resident's zip code. This event series will be eligible for up to 10 hours of CBEL pending local AHEC Program approval.
