PHAP 101-An Overview of the Public Health Associate Program-Does my organization want to host an associate? This session will provide a broad overview of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) Public Health Associate Program (PHAP). PHAP is a two-year, competency-based training program for early-career public health professionals who contribute to the public health workforce. The associates are placed in field-based assignments in state, local, and territorial health departments, or non-governmental organizations for the duration of the training program (at no cost to the organization). The application period to host an associate is in January-February of each year, and the associate’s 2-year training program starts in October of the same year. Please join the meeting to see if your organization is a good teaching environment for an early-career public health professional. Leadership staff from PHAP will discuss the program and be available to answer your questions about PHAP.
