Safe and Effective Pain Care: A Comprehensive Guide for Opioid Prescribing in Primary Care

Healthcare professionals - this four-hour course will provide you with clarity and confidence in patient pain assessment, treatment planning, and ongoing pain support. While ideal for prescribing providers, the course content is relevant and useful to ALL members of a healthcare team. 

Course topics include: 

·   Pain Assessment - Deepen understanding of pain assessment and identification of risk factors for opioid misuse.

·   Patient Safety and OUD Management - Techniques to counsel patients on safe use, storage, and disposal of opioid analgesics.

·   Evidence-Based Pain Management - Explore strategies for non-opioid and nonpharmacologic pain treatments and learn how to develop effective individualized multimodal pain management plans.

Falls Prevention Awareness: Advancing Training for Home Health Aides

This free course equips home health aides with practical strategies to help prevent falls and reduce injury among older adults. Participants strengthen the skills they already use on the job by sharpening how they observe, document, and share important information, while also improving communication with older adult clients, healthcare providers, and family members. The course highlights the unique role of direct care workers, who are often able to see clients in their home setting, identify potential fall risks related to the environment and daily activities, and support actions that help lower the risk of falls.
