In carrying out a mission that’s more important than ever, nearly 300 AHECs across the U.S. are improving healthcare and changing lives. Each year, thousands of individuals participate in AHEC programs and go on to become health professionals serving their communities.That's why the National AHEC Organization (NAO) created the AHEC Alumni/Advocate membership category.AHEC Alumni/Advocates are individuals who have been positively impacted by Area Health Education Centers and want to stay connected--or reconnect-- with the AHEC mission of expanding and enhancing healthcare access in rural and disadvantaged communities.
